New Walther PK 380

The Walther PK .380 is 6.5 inches long which I think was a huge mistake. The 8+1 rounds is ok, but I think people will shy away from it because of the size.

Why buy it when you can get 9mm that is smaller? The P22 is "cool" and it is a good platform to learn on, but people don't want a P22 for self defense. If .380 ammo were cheap this would be a whole different story because the "cool" factor would kick in for the PK .380 like it did for the P22. In fact, they better introduce a PK .380 in pink to drive sales for the "I want a pink gun crowd". Men like me will in turn reluctantly purchase this firearm because we want our ladies to be happy and deadly at the same time.

I do have to give Walther credit for making good looking guns, but in this case I don't think looks will steal any market share from the existing and very viable hanguns in .380 with a much smaller footprint. Sometimes another gun is just another gun, and that is my take on the Walther PK .380.

The P22 is 6.3 in long. This really isn't any bigger.

I'm sure the Walther is a fine pistol, but I wouldn't put a whole lot of money into any .380 Auto. I don't think the caliber can justify it, when there are many choices in subcompact 9mm's.

I agree .....i had been looking for a new pocket carry gun and i own several and like and prefer walthers

but after much looking i decided on a kahr pm9 mostly for the reasons you stated and have been extremely pleased. Actually this little PM9 is more comfortable to shoot and is as acurate as my walther P99
(having smaller hands might have something to do with it)

I also own a walther p22....in long and short barrel and in 17m2....its a fun gun but nothing more than a plinker

Way Way too "busy" for a .380 pistol.

one of the high points on walther PP pistols is in my opinion the trigger guard mag release

i personally much much prefer the PP type of mag release

I just bought one of these Keltec PF-9's for 289, the laser was another 180 I think.
http://www.gunblast.com/Kel-Tec9mm.htm
It gets some pretty good velocity on th 9mm's, 1150 to 1550 fps.

My sister likes them, too. I had a PPK/S, but I sold it last month. It's a very pretty gun, but for some reason I just never really liked it and rarely shot it.

Has anyone looked at the Bersa .380?
http://www.bersafirearmsusa.com/detail_bersa380.php

The reviews I read gave them high marks.

One guy reviewed it along with a Sig .380 and seemed to think the Bersa was on par with the Sig.

Certainly more reliable than most Keltecs.

I like the 380 too. I have had carpal tunnel in my hand and some of the smaller pistols hit me wrong and actually hurt when holding them, the Walther was just right! The one I was eyeing had a laser on it! I was tempted to get it but decided to buy a solar panel instead! The solar panel came in 2 days ago and was broke! Not a happy camper!

Of the two I like the Sig P232 better than the PPK, (both are .380's) The PPK is slightly smaller than the Sig, but the Sig fits my hands better. I've also a P22 just for fun.

This is my third Keltec. First two have been reliable. What is the basis for this statement.

I've shot a Bersa Thunder .380 and found it a very fine pistol in fit and function. Considering the price, I think they are a very good value. Never have shot a Kel-Tec, but really would like to try one.

I hadn't been thinking about selling it until a family member asked if I'd sell it to her. She really liked it and wanted it, so I sold it to her.
